About us
"Urania ripheus" originates in 1999 receiving the inheritance of the "Urania Naturalistic Laboratory" which has aroused the interest for entomology in Italy for more than 20 years thanks to successful exhibitions. In September 1999 "Urania ripheus" mounts the exhibition entitled "Il mondo a sei zampe ... e non solo" (The world on six legs... and not only) in the centre of Milan, which among other things presents the launch of the video "A bug's life" by Walt Disney/Pixar. Between 2000 and 2001 it prepares a few exhibitions on entomology ("The World of Butterflies", "Curiosities of the World of Coleoptera" and "Social Insects" at the Museum of Zoology of the Università degli Studi di Milano).
Among its consulting and collaboration activities it is worth emphasizing those carried out in collaboration with RAI (Italian RadioTelevision), the University of Studies of Pavia (Animal Biology Department), the University of Studies of Milan (Biology Department, Agricultural Entomology Department), the Milan City Museum of Natural History (Entomology Division), the Abruzzo National Park and the Ticinum Valley Natural Park.
